what the future holds

I'm hoping the future has one of these in store for me. I think I'm in love.

well, butter my butt and call me a biscuit

I just love that saying. I like how it rolls off the tongue. There's even a book by the same name. Don't ask me what it means or how I could use it in real life.

Also, here is the.best.biscuit.recipe.ever! I used them to sop molasses this weekend. If you don't know what in the heck I'm talking about, then you probably aren't from the south. But you can still make these tasty biscuits.

the little things that make me happy

For example, a new shampoo, sparkly holiday nail polish (I'm wearing amethyst twist), a new Restoration Hardware catalog, and listening to the John Mayer Trio on Pandora while I cook and blog on a Saturday night.

modern family

This show is one of my favorites. It reminds me of my family in so many ways. I also think I might be a gay man, but that's a different post.

This clip had me rolling because it reminded me of my brother. When we were little, I tried to convince Michael that if we practiced every morning at 5:00 am, we could go to the Olympics for figure skating. We got up one morning and roller skated in the dark in front of our house. Michael, who is two years younger than me, couldn't lift me over his head. I was pretty disappointed. How about we try again at Thanksgiving, Michael? Please...

struggling and making it

I'm struggling to find something to blog about this week. Sometimes, it's best to listen. Other times, it's best to not say anything at all--especially if you don't have something nice to say. I'm still struggling with this one.

I would really be struggling with life right now if I wasn't married to Jason. He is the best. I'm not just saying that because I'm married to him either. I'd totally want him even if I wasn't married to him. He's really keeping "life" going right now as I'm trying to get through grad school and national boards. He makes me smoothies in the morning, makes the bed, and makes dinner.

In the midst of all of this, he still manages to make me laugh too. This picture always does it for me.

halloween party (lots of pictures)

President Clinton and I (a fallen angel) hosted an All Hallows' Eve Party last night.Emily (Wendy) and Josh (Peter Pan) attended.
Emily and me. I'm not even cropping pictures today. Just go with it.
Alice (the church lady) and David (her husband she caught watching porn) came.
Alice even brought her Bible and "repent" cards.
Troy, Kim, and Amy came. Amy is going as the third wheel. Since she's the only one in our group who is single, she's always the third, fifth, of seventh wheel. We love her and wouldn't have it any other way.The front of Amy and Kim's shirts (the broom part) lit up.
Sandee (a gypsy) came, even though Ryan had a migraine.
She put her extensive jewelry collection to good use.
We served desserts and the best Southern Comfort punch ever. I'm not kidding. This is a vegan spider web "cheesecake" and brains cupcakes.
Spider cookies and Alice's "repent" card.
Chocolate fondue
The.best.punch.ever.
It was a great night with friends. Thanks for coming everybody!
